Box Score POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Bulldogs ran into a hot team and goalie while getting an outstanding performance from its own netminder. Yale Men's Hockey goalie Corbin Kaczperski stopped 25 shots to help the Elis stay with No. 6 Clarkson before falling 3-1.
Both Golden Knights goals came on the advantage, though Kaczperski and his penalty-kill unit were successful on four other attempts.
The Bulldogs (9-11, 6-7) jumped all over a turnover on the Clarkson blueline in the first period to cut a 2-0 deficit in half. Tyler Welsh took a pass from Justin Pearson and buried his shot from the low slot.
The visitors got a late advantage and the pulled their goalie for an extra skater but could not get the equalizer with 11 total shots in the third period. The Knights (18-6-2, 11-3-0) found an empty net as time expired.
Yale is back in action on Saturday at St. Lawrence in a 7 p.m. start that airs live on ESPN+.
