NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The start of the Ivy League season is more than a month away, but the Yale men's tennis team will get a look at some of the Ivy competition this weekend at the ECAC Indoor Championships at Cornell. Seven of the eight league schools comprise the field. Yale opens play on Friday by meeting Dartmouth at noon.
The Bulldogs sit at 2-1 on the season. They opened with victories over Boston College and Boston University before dropping a match to Minnesota last Sunday.
Harvard claimed the top seed on the strength of their 8-0 record. The field rounds out with No. 2 seed Dartmouth (8-0), No. 3 seed Cornell (3-1), No. 4 Seed Princeton (5-2), No. 5 Seed Penn (3-3), No. 6 seed Brown (6-0) and No. 7 seed Yale (2-1).
The winner of Friday's Yale-Dartmouth match advances to the semifinals against the winner of the Cornell-Brown match. The loser moves into the consolation bracket.
The final is set for Sunday at 3 p.m.
