ITHACA, N.Y. – Yale and Brown played a tight match on the second day of the ECAC Indoor Men's Tennis Championship at Cornell on Saturday. The Bears earned a three-set victory at No. 6 singles to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs.
Brown opened the match by winning the doubles point.
Yale got singles victories from
Michael Sun,
Andrew Heller and
Cody Lin.
Sun earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 position. Heller needed a tiebreaker to win the first set of his match but then cruised to a 6-3 victory to take the second set. Lin dropped the first set in a tiebreaker but then rebounded with a pair of 6-1 wins.
The Bulldogs are back in action next Friday, hosting William & Mary at 4 p.m. at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
