PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After two days of competition at the Ivy League Championships, the Yale women's swimming and diving team is currently in third place with 352.5 points. Harvard and Princeton sit atop the standings with 510 and 508 points, respectively.Â

In the first individual event of the day, sophomores
Ashley Loomis and
Ali Truwit finished in the top two heats of the 500-yard freestyle. Loomis placed sixth with a time of 4:47.80, and Truwit finished 15th overall (4:54.23).

Senior
Lili Margitai finished eighth overall in the 200-yard individual medley for the Bulldogs (2:03.17). Junior
Cate Sawkins won the B heat and finished ninth overall (2:02.02), while sophomore
Olivia Paoletti placed 11th (2:02.20).Â

Izzi Henig scored the greatest number of points among all Yale swimmers on Thursday, taking fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (22.60). First-year
Ophelia Pilkinton placed seventh in the event, finishing in 23.05 seconds.Â

In the final swimming event, the Bulldogs finished fifth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.91.

In the lone diving event of the day, junior
Nikki Watters took fourth in the 1-meter dive with 272.35 points.

The Bulldogs move on to day three of the Ivy League Championships on Friday. Yale swimmers will compete in the 1000-yard freestyle, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke. The 3-meter dive will also be held tomorrow.
