Men's Ice Hockey Steve Conn

No. 2 Cornell Takes 4-0 Decision

Kaczperski Makes 19 Saves

Box Score

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale Men's Hockey Team had a shot at the No. 2 team in the country and did not have a good night despite 19 saves from Corbin Kaczperski.

The senior goalie blanked the Big Red on five advantages, and the Yale defense limited the high-scoring visitors to just 23 shots on net, including nine of the last two periods.

The Big Red (20-2-4, 15-2-2) outshot the Bulldogs 23-17 and did not provide many openings for the home team, which will host Colgate Saturday on Senior Night.

Yale, which can finish anywhere in the standings from fourth to ninth and needs five points to clinch home ice in the playoffs, did have an opportunity to make things interesting when Cornell was up 2-0 late in the first period and killing off a penalty. That's when Yale had a goal taken away by video review, which showed the Elis off side before Jack St. Ivany fired a shot top shelf. The Big Red used that shift in momentum to add another tally in the opening period.
