Box Score HAMDEN, Conn. – The Yale Men's Hockey Team had plenty of opportunities in the early going to make the last game of the regular season a very different looking decision, but it ended up a 5-0 victory for No. 17 Quinnipiac.
Yale, playing without its captain,
Evan Smith, and his brother, Mitchell, and some other key players, did everything well at times but just couldn't finish on the grade-A chances. The Bulldogs outshot the home team 29-24 while getting 19 saves from
Corbin Kaczperski, who was successful on three of four penalty kills.
The Bulldogs (13-14-2, 10-10-2 ECAC), who played an OT game against the Bobcats at New Haven earlier this month, are the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament and are back in action next weekend to host No. 10 Union in a best-of-three series at Ingalls.
