Game Notes for Yale

There are three regular-season weekends remaining, and the Bulldogs are in fifth place with hopes for holding on to a playoff position and maybe even a home series. The Yale Women's Hockey Team is in the thick of the ECAC playoff race because of a six-game win streak that came to an end last week at Ingalls Rink. The Elis can start another one with a big road test this weekend in the North Country. Yale takes on St. Lawrence on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 7 Clarkson on Saturday at 3 p.m. in games shown live on ESPN+.

BULLDOGS
The current squad is one of three (1985-86, 2003-04) Yale teams to win as many as six straight, while it fell a game shy of the longest (5-0-2, 2004-05) unbeaten string when it fell to Princeton last Friday, 2-1. Emma Seitz hit the net against the No. 6 Tigers and Charlotte Welch, who leads the team with 11 goals, scored in a 3-1 loss to Quinnipiac on Saturday. Gianna Meloni was in net both games and had a combined 53 saves. The Bulldogs played last weekend without the services of two blueliners and hope to be at full strength for this road trip.

LAST MEETING
Yale earned its first-ever sweep of the North Country teams when they visited Ingalls Rink on Jan. 10 and 11. Clarkson was ranked No. 5 in the poll that week and St. Lawrence came to town with some impressive wins. The Elis beat the Knights 5-2 before holding on for a 2-1 win over the Saints.

ST. LAWRENCE
The Saints (11-11-6, 6-7-3) are 2-1-1 over their last four, including a 1-1 tie at Colgate and a 3-2 loss at Cornell last weekend. SLU enters Friday's game in eighth place with 15 points, five behind the Elis.

CLARKSON
The Knights (18-4-6, 9-3-4) stayed at No. 7 this week after skating in a pair of OT ties last weekend at Cornell and Colgate. Clarkson, with its four-game unbeaten streak, sits in fourth place, one point behind Harvard and two points ahead of Yale. The Knights have outscored opponents 90-44 this year, including 47-24 in conference play.
