Bulldogs Set For ECAC Indoor Championships

No. 3 Seed Yale Faces UMass in First Round

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale women's tennis team will hit the road for the first time this spring to participate in the ECAC Championships, hosted by Ivy League rival Columbia. Matches start Friday and the championships runs through Sunday.
 
The bracket is comprised of eight teams; seven of which are Ivy League squads, the lone exception being UMass. The Bulldogs are seeded third after No. 1 Harvard and No. 2 Penn. 
 
Yale faces UMass in the first round on Friday at 2 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinals to meet the winner of the Penn-Dartmouth match on Saturday at 5 p.m., while the loser plays at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the consolation bracket.
 
The championship match is set for 5 p.m. on Sunday.
 
Yale has won four of its last five matches with UMass, including a 7-0 victory last year.

All matches will be played at Dick Savitt Tennis Center except for Match No. 9, which will be played at the Billie Jean King Training Center/USTA indoor facility in Queens on Sunday morning.
