NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's tennis team faces a tough test on Sunday. The Bulldogs host Minnesota of the Big Ten at noon at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
Yale has faced several Big Ten opponents in the past several years, falling short against Michigan State and Ohio State in the 2019 and 2018 spring seasons, respectively. This opportunity to compete against another challenging Big 10 team at home will go a long way in preparing the Elis for the ECAC Championships next weekend where they will battle against other Ivy League teams.
Minnesota lost at Dartmouth, 4-3 on Friday. The Gophers are coming off of an impressive weekend in which the Gophers swept Auburn University in singles to propel them to a 6-1 victory over the Tigers, and then followed it up with a come from behind win against Alabama, defeating the Crimson Tide 4-3. Minnesota has a 4-2 record.
