INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Ami Gianchandani, a sophomore who was just named captain of the 2020-21 Yale Women's Golf Team, has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

That committee provides insight on the student-athlete experience while offering input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses.

Gianchandani, whose term of service on the committee runs from June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2022, was the 2019 Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year. Only the second Yale player to accomplish that combination, she was the only Ivy player to make the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking.

The Watchung, N.J., native has been adding her name in the school record books since arriving in New Haven, including a school-record 65 in the second round of the 2019 Yale Fall Invitational.
