Lyon Ready to Help Flyers’ Cup Quest

Former Yale Goalie Inside NHL Bubble

TORONTO, Ont. – When Alex Lyon '17 was in net for the Bulldogs, there seemed to be a bubble protecting the Yale net. The former All-American netminder is now inside the National Hockey League bubble helping the Philadelphia Flyers compete for a 2020 Stanley Cup.

The Flyers, who begin round-robin play as the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference at Scotiabank Arena, have the fourth-year professional for their games with Boston, Washington and Toronto and then series play.

Lyon is a Baudette, Minn., native with 16 NHL games played and a 5-4-1 record since signing a pro contract after his junior season at Yale. Most of his pro experience has come with the American Hockey League's Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
