NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
Kathryn Attar did a little bit of everything in Yale's key, five-set win over Brown last Friday. As a result, she has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
Attar posted a double-double with 15 kills and 19 digs as the Bulldogs handed the Bears their first Ivy loss of the season. She was particularly effective in the decisive fifth set when she had four kills to lead Yale to a 15-13 victory.
"Kat played really well, contributing both at the net and from the back row," said Yale head coach
Erin Appleman.
Attar is the third Bulldog to earn an Ivy accolade this fall, joining
Mila Yarich and
Carly Diehl, who both earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Yale also had first year
Fatima Samb named to the Honor Roll this week. Samb had 11 kills and a big block that gave the Bulldogs the lead for good in the fifth set.
Yale is back on the road this weekend, traveling to Cornell on Friday and Columbia on Saturday.
