NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team made the most of its first meet in Kiphuth Pool in nearly two years. The Bulldogs set three pool records in a 194-106 win over Columbia.
Iszac Henig swam 49.30 in the 100 freestyle, the 200-yard medley relay of Henig,
Lindsey Wagner,
Ava Franks and
Alex Massey had a time of 1:41.07 and the 200 freestyle relay team of Henig, Franks, Wagner and
Ophelia Pilkinton posted a time of 1:32.28, all new Kiphuth Pool marks.
"It was great to be back competing in the X Pool again after 650 days," said
Jim Henry, the Robert J.H. Kiphuth Head Coach of men's and women's swimming. "Our team thrived off of the home crowd, and it showed in the close races tonight. Extremely proud of the three new Kiphuth pool records. These have come from a consistent level of training from the past year. This team is so happy to be together again. We are looking forward to the upcoming competitions this year and to continue the momentum of the fast start to our season."
The Bulldogs are now 2-0 on the season.
Other winners included Henig in the 50 freestyle, Franks in the 200 breaststroke,
Ashley Loomis in the 500 freestyle and
Junseo Kim in the 200 individual medley.
