YALE GAME NOTES
Â
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale Women's Hockey Team, looking for its third straight win, hosts a pair of old conference rivals this weekend at the Whale. No. 10 Harvard and Dartmouth come to town for 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. games Friday and Saturday that air live on ESPN+.
Â
BULLDOGS
Yale, which received six votes for national rankings this week, opened the season by outscoring two opponents 15-0 before running into hot goalies the next weekend and dropping a pair at home. Last weekend in New York the Elis found their offense again and posted 11 goals while not allowing a tally in a sweep of No. 4 Colgate and Cornell. Goalie
Gianna Meloni (48 saves) and forward
Claire Dalton (2-4-6), the ECAC Hockey Goalie and Player of the Week, respectively, were key components in the wins.
Â
CRIMSON
Harvard comes to the Whale after splitting a North Country road trip, which included a 2-0 win over St. Lawrence and a 4-3 loss to Clarkson. Led by 27
th year head coach Katey Stone, who is two wins shy of 500 at Harvard, the Crimson are 4-2 overall and 3-2 in ECAC Hockey play. Keely Moy leads the offense with five goals and nine points, while Becky Dutton (1.49 goals against) has three of the four wins in net.
Â
BIG GREEN
Dartmouth, under first-year head coach Liz Keady Norton, is 2-3 overall after getting a 6-2 win at St. Lawrence and a 5-0 loss to Clarkson last week up North.
