Â
BULLDOGS
Yale, which had last weekend off, is coming off a win and an OT loss in the Nutmeg Classic the weekend prior. The Elis lost to No. 5 Quinnipiac 3-2 in OT after having a late 2-0 lead before beating Sacred Heart 4-1. Yale's unbeaten streak ended at seven against the Bobcats, but the Blue responded with four power-play tallies the next day to start another one. One of the reasons the Elis have the second ranked power play in the country is junior blueliner
Emma Seitz, who was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Month last week after notching nine goals and 15 points in November. Junior forward
Claire Dalton (7-15-22) and sophomore
Elle Hartje (6-16-22) have also been very active on special teams. In addition, Yale leads the nation in shorthanders with five, including two each from Dalton and first-year blueliner
Vita Poniatovkaia. The netminding duties have been shared by senior
Gianna Meloni (1.43, .942), who is top 10 in Division I in save percentage and goals against average, and first year
Pia Dukaric (1.66, .913).
Â
TERRIERS
Boston University, which brings a 9-5-3 (8-4-3 Hockey East) record into the Whale, swept Merrimack on Dec. 3-4 and has now won three straight. Courtney Correia, a senior forward, leads the team with nine goals and 17 points, while a pair of goalies have shared the duties in net. Kate Stuart, a senior, owns a 1.97 goals against with a .927 save percentage and a 4-4-3 record. First-year Callie Shanahan is undefeated in five starts and has a 1.66 goals against with a .941 save percentage.
