Box Score STORRS, Conn. -- Tiffany Pedersen-Henry and Mila Yarich both had 13 kills in a 3-1 loss at UConn on Saturday night in the final match of the Dog Pound Challenge. The loss snapped Yale's six-match win streak.
The scores of the match were 25-16, 26-24, 22-25 and 27-25.
Pedersen-Henry and Carly Diehl were both named to the all-tournament team for the Bulldogs, who won two of three matches in the event. Diehl had 43 assists, 12 digs and five kills tonight, while Zoie Stewart had six kills and six blocks while hitting .400.Â
After dropping the first two sets, Yale stormed back. In a back-and-forth third set, the Bulldogs made big plays down the stretch.
Yale (7-2) forced an error to take a 23-22 lead and Maile Somera followed with an ace to force set point. Pedersen-Henry smashed a kill to give Yale the set.
In the forth, Yale led most of the way. Fatima Samb had a solo block and Bella Chan served up an ace to give the Bulldogs an 11-3 lead.Â
Somera added another ace later in the set to keep the lead at 14-7. Â UConn chipped away and held off four straight set points before taking the match.Â
The Bulldogs host Brown on Friday to open Ivy League play. The match starts at 7:30 p.m.
