NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Colgate scored twice in the second half and held on for a 2-0 win at Reese Stadium in a contest played during heavy rain.
The Bulldogs, who next play at Albany on Sept. 9, had a couple of quality scoring chances but could not convert on the slippery turf.
Ellery Winkler, Molly Fallek, Reina Bonta and
Sarah Jordan each had multiple shots for the Elis.
Yale had a 10-5 advantage in shots, while
Annie Welsh had one save for the home team.
Before the game, the Bulldogs celebrated their two Class of 2021 members,
Alexandra McCraven and
Christine Oberhausen, who missed out on a celebration last year due to the pandemic.
