YALE GAME NOTES

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale Men's Ice Hockey Team looks to build off its two-point weekend at home with a pair of important road games in the Capital District. The Bulldogs take on RPI on Friday before heading to Union on Saturday. Both 7 p.m. games air live on ESPN+.

SERIES
The Bulldogs and Engineers first played in 1908-09 and RPI has a 56-49-6 lead. Yale, which went 4-1 against Union in 2019-20, has a 29-27-5 edge in the series since the first game in 1991-92, the year the Dutchmen replaced Army in ECAC Hockey.

LAST MEETINGS
Yale and RPI last met on Jan. 20, 2020, a 4-1 win for the home team at Ingalls Rink. Justin Pearson scored the game's first goal that night. The Bulldogs and Dutchmen last played in game three of the 2020 ECAC first-round playoff series at New Haven. Eli captain Graham Lillibridge found the net in overtime, but the college hockey season came to a sudden end a few days later during the early days of the pandemic.

BULLDOGS
Yale, coming off a 2-2 OT tie with Colgate and a shootout win for the extra point on Sunday, is looking to build off last weekend's two-point set. Nathan Reid was the ECAC Hockey Goalie of the Week after he stopped 21 of 22 shots against No. 9 Cornell and then made 33 saves, plus two stops in the shootout, against the Raiders. Justin Pearson and Ian Carpentier had the goals in regulation, while Pearson and Teddy Wooding converted shootout attempts.

ENGINEERS
RPI, which split in the North Country last week, got blanked by Clarkson but turned around to do the same to St. Lawrence. The Engineers (10-12-3, 5-5-0 ECAC) are led offensively by senior forward Ture Linden, who has eight goals and 20 points. At the other end of the ice, senior Linden Marshall has been in 21 of 25 games and brings a 2.56 goals against into the weekend.

DUTCHMEN
Union (6-11-3, 4-6-1), like RPI, is in the middle of the conference standings approaching the stretch run. The Dutchmen are coming off a win at St. Lawrence and a loss at Clarkson. Junior goalie Connor Murphy starts the weekend with a 2.80 goals against and a .918 save percentage, while the offense has been led by junior forward Liam Robertson (7-3-10).
