NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale defense came to play Friday night and led the Bulldogs to their 14th straight win in a 3-1 victory over Brown at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The scores of the match were 25-16, 25-12, 22-25 and 25-21. Â
With the victory, the Bulldogs have the longest current winning streak in the nation. Yale also improved to 16-1 overall, 8-0 in Ivy League play and swept the season series from the Bears.
Maile Somera had a match-high 25 digs and the Bulldogs held a 71-46 edge over the Bears in the match.Â
Fatima Samb had a team-best six blocks.
The Bulldogs also hit .318 for the match.Â

Audrey Leak and
Mila Yarich had 12 kills each for the Bulldogs to lead a balanced attack.Â
Carly Diehl had 48 assists, 10 digs and seven kills while hitting .400. Diehl and Yarich (12 kills and 16 digs) both had double-doubles.Â
Yale closed out the fourth set and the match with clutch plays down the stretch. Up 20-18, Barr delivered a kill followed by block from Samb and Yarich to give Yale a four-point lead.
The Bulldogs, one of the top service aces teams in the nation, served up nine aces on the evening. Yarich had four, including one on match point, and
Cara Shultz had three. Shultz entered the match ranked fifth in the nation in service aces per set.
Yale returns to the court next Friday with a home match against Cornell.
