PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Yale men's hockey team fell to Brown, 2-1, at Meehan Auditorium. The loss puts the Bulldogs at 1-1 on the season and 1-1 in ECAC play, while the Bears improved to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
How It Happened
- After not finding the back of the net the night before, Brown struck first just two minutes into the game. Nathan Reid made the initial save, but the Bears caught the rebound and slid it up to the point for a one-timer finish.
- Just about 11 minutes later, the Bears took a two-goal lead on the powerplay after stuffing one past Reid down low.
- Yale's offense started generating more opportunities as the game went on. At the 9:29 mark of the third period, Briggs Gammill skated through center ice and slid one over to Connor Sullivan, who buried it past Brown's goalie Matthieu Caron to cut the Bears' lead in half.
- The Bulldogs had a late 6-on-4 opportunity with under two minutes to play, but could not solve Garon and Brown went on to take the victory at home.
