EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. – The Yale men's golf program earned second place at the Hamptons Intercollegiate on Tuesday in a competitive field at the Maidstone Club, highlighted by a pair of top-10 finishers on the individual leaderboard. It is the third top-three finish for the Bulldogs this season.
Yale edged Kentucky by one stroke for second place by shooting 39-over par (903) for the tournament – which included carding a one-over (289) in Monday's first round. Virginia won the Hamptons Intercollegiate at four-over (868), while Kentucky was third at 40-over (904).
First year
Will Lodge tied for fifth on the player leaderboard at five-over (221). His best round of the tournament came on Monday when he shot a one-under (71) in the first 18 holes. It is the third time that Lodge has placed in the top-five this season, which includes him coming off a second-place finish at the Macdonald Cup on Sept. 24-25.
Lodge shot a four-under (4.67 average score) on Par 5 holes during the tournament – tied for the best mark among all golfers in the 60-player field.
Sophomore
Robert You tied for seventh at eight-over (224), joining Lodge among top-10 finishers. You led all golfers in the tournament with a two-under (2.83 average score) on Par 3 holes, while Lodge was second with even-par (3.00 average score).

Yale finished second in a 10-team field that included a pair of Ivy League foes in Princeton (7
th) and Penn (10
th). Among all rounds by competing programs, the Bulldogs had the second-best score (289 in first round) in the entire tournament – with only Virginia's first-round score lower (285).
