CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Bulldogs won their 10th straight match and improved to 4-0 in the Ivy League with a 3-1 win at Harvard on Friday evening. The scores of the match were 25-22, 25-23, 19-25 and 25-23.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 12-1 overall and 4-0 in Ivy League play.
Carly Diehl had 45 assists, three aces and a key solo block late in the fourth set to lift Yale to victory.Â
Maile Somera had a team-high 14 digs and four service aces.
Audrey Leak had a team-high 13 kills, while
Mila Yarich had 12 and
Gigi Barr had 11.Â
Fatima Samb continued her precise hitting with five kills on seven swings without an error. Samb is hitting .483 over the first four Ivy matches.
Yale carried momentum into tonight's match. The Bulldogs led 5-0 and 7-1 and never trailed in the first set.
In set two, the Bulldogs fought back. Down 22-19, Yale rattled off six of the final seven points including clutch kills from
Lauren Kellen and Yarich that put the Bulldogs at set point. Kellen finished with nine kills.Â
After Harvard took set three, the Bulldogs once again battled to take the lead late in the final set. Leak started a 5-0 rally to close out the match with a kill followed by four straight Crimson attack errors.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow at Dartmouth. The match starts at 5 p.m.Â
