Bulldogs Win Third Straight, Top Columbia 179-121

Massey captures 200 backstroke, 100 butterfly

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yale women's swimming and diving team continued its strong start to the season. The Bulldogs were on the road for the first time this season and knocked off Columbia 179-121 at Uris Natatorium.
 
Yale won both diving events and both relays. Paige Lai captured the 3-meter diving, while Lily Horenkamp was the 1-meter winner. In the 200 medley relay, Lindsey Wagner, Jessey Li, Alex Massey and Ophelia Pilkinton led the Bulldogs to victory with a time of 1:42.24. The 200 freestyle relay team of Li, Wagner, Caroline McCurdy and Ophelia Pilkinton won with a time of 1:33.29.
 
Massey captured both the 200 backstroke and 100 butterfly. Other winners for the Bulldogs were: Ally Bernier (1,000 freestyle), Wagner (100 backstroke), Li (100 breaststroke), and Lilly Derivaux (500 freestyle).
 
Next up for Yale is the Ohio State Invitational, which starts on Thursday and runs through Saturday.
