ITHACA, N.Y. – The Yale men's hockey team fell to Cornell, 5-2, at Lynah Rink. With the loss, the Bulldogs move to 1-6-0 overall and 1-6-0 in ECAC play, while the Big Red improved to 3-4-0 and 3-2-0 in the conference.
How It Happened
- The game was scoreless in the first until Cornell's Zach Tupker found the back of the net with 29 seconds remaining before the first intermission.
- Second period action continued to be all Cornell as the Big Red added four goals to extend their lead to five.
- Yale found life in the third period. Briggs Gammill scored on the powerplay to get the Bulldogs on the board.
- Reilly Connors added another goal for Yale with 3:20 remaining in the game.
- The Bulldogs' late-game push was not enough as Cornell was able to fend them off and secure the victory at home.
