NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A victory in The Game earned a pair of Bulldogs weekly honors from the Ivy League.
Hamilton Moore, who had a pair of interceptions in Yale's 19-14 win at Harvard, was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week, while
Joshua Pitsenberger, who rushed for a team-high 82 yards, earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Moore had two of Yale's four interceptions. His first pick came in the first quarter in the end zone, thwarting a Crimson scoring opportunity. His second interception came with 24 seconds left in the fourth quarter and sealed the victory. He also tied for the team lead with six tackles, including one for a loss.
Pitsenberger capped an outstanding rookie season with a big performance in The Game. His 82 yards came on 21 carries. He finished the season with 667 rushing yards, seven touchdowns and a 5.6 yards per carry average, while earning four Rookie of the Week selections.
Yale captured the Ivy League title, finishing with an 8-2 overall record and a 6-1 Ivy mark. It is the Bulldogs' third Ivy championship in the last five seasons.
