NEW HAVEN, Conn. –
Shervin Dehmoubed, a member of the Yale men's tennis team, has been named to the Forbes Under 30 Class of 2023.
Dehmoubed of Cardiff by the Sea, Calif., is the cofounder and CEO of EcoPackables, a sustainable packaging company that exclusively uses recyclable or compostable materials.
"According to Dehmoubed, the company has prevented more than 12.5 million plastic polybags and pouches from ending up in landfills this year alone. EcoPackables has partnerships with major retailers, including Ted Baker, Revolve, and L.L. Bean," Forbes wrote in his profile.
Prior to coming to Yale, Dehmoubed founded the Youth Entrepreneurship Organization in San Diego County and also attended the World Leadership Congress in Chicago in 2018 where he spent the better part of a week working on different service projects and planning new ones.
"The 600 bold founders, leaders and entrepreneurs on the 2023 Forbes Under 30 list have launched creative companies to put a dent in issues like global warming, reproductive health, student debt and financial freedom," Forbes wrote in announcing the Class. "They provide plenty of reason to believe that tomorrow will be brighter than today."
