The Yale men's hockey team will play two more games in the 2022 calendar year at the Ledyard Classic, hosted by Dartmouth College. The Bulldogs first square off with Providence on Friday, Dec. 30 before drawing either Merrimack or Dartmouth in the final game of the tournament. Both contests will be live on ESPN+ and available for international viewing on Stretch Internet.
Bulldog Bytes
- Yale (1-8-1, 1-8-1 ECAC) have made strides in their recent outings. In the Bulldogs' last game, they fought and earned the extra points in a shootout tie over Clarkson on Dec. 10.
- David Chen's play has been impactful for the Bulldogs. The first year leads the team in points with three goals and two assists. Chen also has goals in his last three games.Â
- Briggs Gammill has also been a contributor for Yale with two goals and two assists this season. Both of Gammill's goals were powerplay tallies.Â
- Kieran O'Hearn leads the team in blocks with 21, while Dylan Herzog has 20.
- William Dineen and Ian Carpentier have a combined 42 shots.Â
- Nathan Reid has seen most of the time in goal this season. Reid has a .891 save percentage and one shutout.
- Luke Pearson has picked up time in goal in the last two games, his first two appearances of the regular season. Pearson made a combined 51 saves and posted a .981 save percentage.
Scouting Providence
- The Friars (9-4-5, 6-1-5 HE) currently sit in fourth place in the Hockey East Conference.
- They are 1-2-2 in their last five games played. Three of those matches were in conference play with both games against Boston College resulting in a shootout and then a 3-2 loss to Merrimack.
- Providence is 2-1 against ECAC opponents this season with wins over Clarkson (5-2) and Saint Lawrence (4-3), and a loss to Brown (2-3).

Last Meeting with the Friars
These two sides last met on Jan. 10, 2017, when Providence took a 3-1 victory over Yale in New Haven. John Hayden scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs.
