RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Mason LaPlante singled, scored a run and reached base four times as the Yale baseball team dropped the series finale at California Baptist University on Sunday afternoon in Riverside, California.
The game marked the final non-conference weekend series of the season for Yale, which begins conference play on Saturday. LaPlante has at least one hit in five of the last six games, going 7-for-22 (.318) in that span.

Max Imhoff also had hits Sunday for the Bulldogs, who fell to 7-6 overall. They had out-slugged Cal Baptist 12-10 on Saturday in the second game of the series.
Carter Kessinger worked a scoreless inning of relief for Yale, striking out two.
Next up, the Bulldogs host Quinnipiac on Tuesday at 3 p.m. After that, they will travel to Princeton to start Ivy League play with a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
