Box Score HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Yale Men's Ice Hockey Team had great opportunities to extend its season in this best-of-three ECAC Hockey Playoff Series with seven power plays tonight.
However, the Bulldogs managed just one goal with the advantage and had its season come to an end in a 4-1 loss to Colgate at Class of 1965 Arena.
The Raiders got the only tally of the first frame and then added another in the second to make it 2-0. Right after the second goal, the home team took a penalty that turned into an answer by the Blue.
Yale first-year defenseman
Dylan Herzog cut the margin in half with a shot from the left dot on the power play at 15:11.
Quinton Ong and
Connor Sullivan picked up assists on the special-teams tally in the middle period.
The Bulldogs, playing without two of its top offensive weapons,
William Dineen and
Ian Carpentier, still had a 30-24 edge in shots.
Colgate grabbed another two-goal lead early in the third, and the contest was still in the balance until late in the period.
Goalie
Nathan Reid, who had 24 saves, was pulled for the extra skater with 2:38 to play, which resulted in three more Raiders tallies.
