Gallagher Named Academic All-Ivy League

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior guard/forward Robin Gallagher (Cary, N.C.), who has helped the Yale women's basketball team earn the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Ivy League Basketball Tournament while also excelling in the classroom, has been named Academic All-Ivy League. The league announced the award on Wednesday.
 
A member of  Ezra Stiles College at Yale, Gallagher is a molecular, cellular and developmental biology major. She is a member of the Yale Undergraduate Pre-Veterinary Society and plans on going to veterinary school. She has worked at the Quartet Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital, where she performed physical examinations of animals and carried out post-surgical patient care.
 
Gallagher also has done extensive volunteer work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving and the Miracle League: Everybody Dance Now Adaptive Dance Program. She has served on the Yale Student-Athlete Advisory Council and the Yale Women's Council. 
 
Gallagher has been a regular contributor throughout her career and now provides the Bulldogs with a valuable veteran presence in the backcourt. Her single-game high in points is 17, set in the win at Dartmouth in 2019. This season she has established career highs in points, rebounds and steals while earning three starts. 
 
Gallagher is a graduate of Athens Drive High School.
 
Yale plays the No. 2 seed in the Ivy League Tournament, Columbia, in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
