SARATOGA, N.Y. – It was another impressive day for the No. 2 ranked Yale women's crew. The Bulldogs easily swept No. 14 Syracuse and Wisconsin in the morning and then won all five races against Cornell and Bucknell in the afternoon. The varsity eight's convincing victory over Cornell earned the Bulldogs the Cayuga Cup, which Yale captured for the ninth straight season.
 
"We had a good day of racing across the board," said Will Porter, The Friends of YWC Head Coach of the Bulldogs. "We still haven't found our top speed and racing lineups, but we learned a lot today and look forward to making some adjustments this week."
 
In the morning, the varsity eight posted a seven-second victory over second-place Syracuse, finishing with a time of 6:30.00. The Orange came in at 6:37.52 followed by Wisconsin (6:42.63).
 
The second varsity eight posted a nearly 10-second victory with a time of 6:33.07. Syracuse was second in 6:43.46. Yale's third varsity eight placed third in 6:48.51 followed by Wisconsin in 6:57.12.
 
Yale's varsity four was equally dominant, cruising to an 11-second victory over second-place Syracuse. The Bulldogs finished in 7:24.05.
 
Yale had the top two finishers in the second varsity four race.
 
The Bulldogs posted convincing victories in every race in the afternoon, winning all five by more than 20 seconds.
 
Yale has its first home race next Saturday, hosting Princeton at the Gilder Boathouse.
