Elian Haddock made five saves, and
Jeremy Haddock played all 90 minutes on defense as the Yale men's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 3-2 victory over Marquette on a humid night at Valley Fields.
The Haddocks grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wis., less than 10 miles north of Milwaukee.
There were a combined four penalty kicks awarded in the game, and each team converted two.
The final PK of the night decided the match. It was awarded when Marquette goalkeeper Chandler Hallwood was whistled for a hard foul in the box.
Paolo Carroll stepped up converted the kick at 84:26 to snap a 2-2 tie. Carroll is now 3-for-3 on penalty kicks on the season.
The Bulldogs had grabbed the early lead when
Sigfus Arnason deftly one-timed an attempted clear past Hallwood at 6:29.
Marquette (3-3) tied the score early in the second half on Lukas Sunesson's PK after Yale was called for a hand ball in the box.
Kahveh Zahiroleslam converted a penalty kick at 57:20 as the Bulldogs regained the lead.
The Golden Eagles, though, were awarded another PK at 79:25, which Sunesson converted.
Yale has won three straight games and is 3-0-2 on the season. The Bulldogs are back on the road on Tuesday when they play at Stony Brook. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. on Long Island.
