NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale volleyball team looks to extend their six-match win streak and open Ivy League play at Brown on Friday evening.
The Bulldogs (8-1) defeated Villanova, Fordham and Sacred Heart last weekend to capture the Yale Invitational in New Haven.  It marked the second straight weekend Yale won a pre-conference season tournament.  
Mila Yarich was named Yale Invitational MVP, and 
Carly Diehl and 
Maile Somera were both named to the all-tournament team.  Yarich averaged 4.42 kills per set in the three victories last weekend and earned a spot on the Ivy League Honor Roll.
Yarich leads the team with 3.64 kills per set average through the team's first nine matches.  Diehl leads the team with a 10.36 assist per set average, while Somera paces the Bulldogs with 120 digs.  At the net, 
Audrey Leak (20 blocks) and 
Fatima Samb (19) lead the team in blocking. 
As a team, the Bulldogs continue to dominate at the service line.  Entering the weekend, Yale holds a 71-34 edge against its opponents.  
Cara Shultz leads the Ivy League with a 0.88 aces per set average.
Scouting Brown
The Bears, the defending Ivy League champs, wrapped up their non-conference schedule with a 4-5 mark.  The Bulldogs and Bears split a pair of matches last season.  Yale handed Brown its only home Ivy League loss last season. Sophia Miller, a first team all-Ivy selection last year, leads the team in kills per set.

The Bulldogs open the conference season with five straight road matches.  After Friday, the Bulldogs travel to Columbia and Cornell next weekend.
