BOSTON -- The Yale men's cross country team posted an impressive fourth-place team finish at Franklin Park Friday at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown 8k. The Bulldogs were the second Ivy League team across the line, with Dartmouth placing second, Harvard placing 12th and Brown placing 13th. The Bulldogs adjusted well to the 8k distance and were able to assert themselves against Ivy competition in the process. With a team spread of only 22 seconds between the top 5 finishers, the Bulldogs are ready to race as a pack when it counts most at the Ivy League Heps Championships in a month. 

Sophomore Leo Brewer lead the charge for the men with a 23rd place finish in 24:41. Two seconds behind was first year Braden King in 24th place. First year Kenan Pala was Yale's third finisher with a time of 24:55 for 28th place. Continuing the chain of first-year finishers, Owen Karas placed 35th as Yale's fourth finisher, and sophomore Calvin Katz placed 39th as Yale's fifth finisher. Sophomore Austin Montini and junior Liam Garrett rounded out the top 7. With three first years in the top 5, there is great excitement for the future of the program.  

Friday's results prove that the Bulldogs are getting better with every opportunity to race. Competing well against teams from all over the country, it will be exciting to see what they do come Regionals. Yale will be back in action in Pennsylvania next Friday for the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University's Paul Goodman Cross Country Course.
