Bulldogs Fall at Florida State on Saturday

Barr and Diehl Named to All-Tournament Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --  Gigi Barr and Carly Diehl were named to the Seminole Invitational All-Tournament team following a 3-0 loss at Florida State on Saturday afternoon.  The Bulldogs closed out the weekend with a 2-1 record at the Seminole Invitational.

"I was pleased with the team's work ethic this weekend," Yale head coach Erin Appleman said.  "This was a great opportunity to work on our chemistry and improve as a team."

Mila Yarich led Yale with nine kills, Barr had eight and Audrey Leak had four on Saturday.  Diehl had 18 assists and Maile Somera added 10 digs for the Bulldogs.

Florida State (5-1) snapped the Bulldogs' six set win streak and took the opening game 25-15.  The Seminoles took each of the last two sets by the score of 25-11.

Despite the loss, the Bulldogs wrapped up a solid weekend in the Sunshine State.  Yale defeated Florida A&M and James Madison yesterday to open the season.

Barr had 27 kills and hit .345 for the weekend, while Diehl averaged 9.6 assists per set and hit .545 with 14 kills and added 25 digs.

The Bulldogs return to action next weekend at a tournament hosted by Syracuse.  Yale will face Army, Syracuse and Hofstra.
