Bulldogs Set for Philadelphia Invitational

Four bouts on tap, including against defending NCAA champion Notre Dame

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's fencing team continues its busy January schedule by heading to Pennsylvania for the Philadelphia Invitational on Sunday. The Bulldogs face defending NCAA champion Notre Dame at 8:30 a.m., the first of four bouts on the day. Yale also fences Ohio State at 9:45 a.m., NYU at 11 a.m. and Wayne State at 2:15 p.m.

The Bulldogs were in Pennsylvania last weekend as well for the Penn State Invitational, and it was an exciting day of action. Yale fenced four times and three ended with 14-13 scores – a victory over North Carolina and losses to Penn State and Duke. The fourth was a victory over Haverford.

The Bulldogs conclude January by hosting Sacred Heart and Vassar next Saturday in Payne Whitney Gym and then travel to the Tri-State Shark Showcase in New York on Sunday.
