Bulldogs Fall to No. 9 Harvard in Overtime

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale men's hockey team took No. 9 Harvard to overtime, ultimately falling, 3-2. The extra time loss puts the Bulldogs at 3-11-4 overall and 2-9-2 in the ECAC, while the Crimson improved to 13-4-1 overall and 11-2-0 in the conference.

How It Happened
  • Yale was the first to find the scoresheet in the first period. Ian Carpentier scooped the puck up while entering the offensive zone. Carpentier found Teddy Wooding breaking towards goal all alone, as Wooding made a nifty fake move and put it past the Crimson netminder.
  • The Bulldogs went into the second period up one goal before the Crimson picked up two goals in just over a minute and took the lead.
  • At the 14:13 mark of the second period, Yale netted the equalizer. Reilly Connors picked the pocket of a Crimson defender, slotted it up to Wooding, who went in on a 2-v-1 with Carpentier and created almost an exact replica of the duos' first goal of the night.
  • There was 20 minutes of scoreless action in the third period, sending the contest to overtime.
  • With just about 20 seconds remaining in the overtime, Harvard found the back of the net to end it.
  • Luke Pearson stood tall with 29 saves in goal for Yale.
