CT Ice Tournament Set for Jan. 27-28 at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Connecticut Ice Tournament is back.

The third edition of the annual tournament between Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, UConn, and Yale returns on Jan. 27-28, 2023 at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Conn.

Quinnipiac, UConn, Yale and Sacred Heart will battle it out for Nutmeg State Supremacy on the home ice of the Bobcats, with the semifinals on Friday and championship round on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts enter the weekend in first place of the ECAC, fourth in Pairwise and Top 5 of the national polls, sitting at 18-3-3 on the campaign. They are led by Hobey Baker Award nominees Collin Graf and Yaniv Perets, as the two headline the nation's top-ranked scoring defense and third-ranked scoring offense.

The Huskies come into the tournament at 15-7-3 after a pair of wins against UMass over the weekend. They have won four of their last six and are averaging over three goals per game. The offense is led by three, 20-point scorers this season in Ryan Tverberg, Matthew Wood and Hudson Schandor.

Yale enters the tournament with a 3-12-4 record, coming off an overtime loss to Harvard before dropping a 4-0 decision to Dartmouth the following night. David Chen leads a trio of four-goal scorers for the Bulldogs, while Luke Pearson has posted a 1.69 goals-against average and .941 save percentage in nine starts.

Sacred Heart is 12-9-2 coming into the tournament, boasting an 11-4-2 record in Atlantic Hockey after an unbeaten weekend against Holy Cross, winning the shootout on Friday night before knocking off the Crusaders 4-1 on Saturday. The Pioneers feature the third-ranked penalty kill in the country and are second in Atlantic Hockey, allowing 2.57 goals per game.

Broadcast Information
The games will be broadcast in the Tri-State area live on SNY starting at 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon. For United States viewers not in the area, we will have a live stream on GoBobcats.com (links will be available soon).
