Bulldogs Soar to Victory Over St. Lawrence

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 2 Yale women's hockey team captured its 20th win of the season with a 6-1 victory over St. Lawrence at Ingalls Rink. The Bulldogs' record improved to 20-1-1 overall and 13-1-1 in the ECAC, while the Saints fell to 11-16-2 overall and 5-8-2 in the conference.

How It Happened
  • Naomi Boucher got things started for Yale with 13:37 to go in the first. Kaitlyn Rippon banked a pass off the boards up to Emma DeCorby. DeCorby fired a shot on goal that Boucher tipped past the St. Lawrence goalie.
  • Elle Hartje made it 2-0 Yale at the 14:37 mark of the second period. Hartje skated from the Bulldogs' offensive zone, powered her way to goal, juked the goalie and slid it in the back of the net.
  • About a minute later, Claire Dalton struck for Yale. Carina DiAntonio left the puck for Charlotte Welch behind the goal line, who slid a backhander over to Dalton for the finish.
  • At the 14:23 mark of the second period, it was DiAntonio's turn to pick up a loose puck and bury a goal of her own for the four-goal lead.
  • Anna Bargman made it five goals with a shot from the slot, fed to her by Jordan Ray from beyond the net at the 16:19 mark of the third.
  • It was the Dalton-Welch-DiAntonio line again with 9:03 to go in the game. Dalton slid the puck up to Welch, who dished a cross-ice pass to DiAntonio. DiAntonio, with speed, beat the defender and went in for the backhanded finish.
