NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's hockey team blanked Mercyhurst, 5-0, in non-conference action at Ingalls Rink. With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 12-1-1 overall, while the Lakers fell to 9-11-0.
Â
How It Happened
- A keep-in from Kaitlyn Rippon at the blueline got Yale on the board at the 16:54 mark of the first period. Rippon then found Kiersten Goode in front, and with a stick-lengths reach, Goode tipped in a beauty that beat the Lakers' goalie top shelf.
- Yale's second goal came in the second period as Jordan Ray and Anna Bargman put in the work below the faceoff dot. It started with a short pass from Ray to Bargman from the corner. Bargman then slid a backhander up to Emma DeCorby, who fired a rocket into the back of the net from the point.
- Then, at 7:25, Grace Lee jumped in on the scoring frenzy and ripped a shot, while falling to her knees, that ended up in the back of the net.Â
- In the third and on the penalty kill, Gracie Gilkyson powered through two defenders before Claire Dalton picked up the loose change in front and netted a shorthanded goal for the four-goal lead.
- The Bulldogs' final goal of the game came with 1:55 remaining as Lee threw a shot on goal that rebounded off the goalie for Claire Sedgewick to clean up in front.

This record was one that both Dukaric and Gianna Meloni also tied last season. Additionally, Dukaric now has 10 career shutouts, which is third all-time in program history alongside Meloni.Â
- Kiersten Goode, Emma DeCorby, Grace Lee, and Claire Sedgewick all recorded their first goals of the season.
- For Sedgewick, it was her first career goal as a Bulldog.
- Yale picked up its third shorthanded goal of the season. It was also the fifth of Claire Dalton's career.
