Cahalan's Late Goal Helps Bulldogs Earn Draw Against Cornell

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Tanner Cahalan scored in the final minute of play as the Yale women's soccer team earned a draw against Cornell. The Bulldogs moved to 5-4-4 overall and 0-3-2 in the Ivy League, while the Big Red moved to 3-3-6 overall and 0-3-2 in the league.
 
"We know in our league if we don't show up we will get punished. Unfortunately we came out flat and sloppy in the first half and credit to Cornell for taking it to us a bit," said Sarah Martinez, Loring Family Head Coach. "In the big picture, I'm very proud of our group for responding in the second half. I felt that was a very different performance for us. Growth for us is grinding out a point in the last 40 seconds of the game. We never quit and we found a way to get a result. We still have a lot of soccer to play and I'm looking forward to seeing us perform on Tuesday at BU."

  • Chloe Laureano picked up her second assist of the season and the ninth of her career.
  • Laila Booker recorded her first collegiate assist and her first point of the season.
  • Kyla Holmes made her first start at Reese Stadium and made three saves.
  • Alanna Butcher led the way for Yale with four shots.
