NEW HAVEN, Conn. – One day after defeating Harvard before more than 51,000 fans at Yale Bowl, Class of 1954 Field, Team 150 gathered at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis to honors its seniors, celebrate another Ivy League championship and announce the team awards.
It was a memorable season for the Bulldogs, who won seven of their final eight games to finish with a 7-3 overall record and a 5-2 Ivy mark. The 23-18 win over the Crimson in The Game earned Yale a share of the Ivy championship.
As part of the ceremony, Yale's 26 seniors were honored. The group graduates with three Ivy League championships, the first class to win three league titles since the Class of 1982.
The team awards were also announced. The winners are below.
Football Special Recognition Awards:
CHARLES LOFTUS_AWARD: Donated by the New Haven Gridiron Club and awarded to the most valuable Freshman player on the team.

CHESTER_J._LAROCHE_AWARD: (1968) Given to the senior on the squad, who by his character and academic talents, has given the most to yale. (Award is $1000 to grad school of recipient's choice, or it goes to Yale in his name).

Awarded to the outstanding member of the Yale football team who best typifies the cheerful disposition, leadership qualities, and unselfish devotion to others which characterized Woody's life and accomplishments at Yale.
