NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team is set to a host the Nutmeg Classic at Ingalls Rink this weekend. The four-team tournament consists of the Bulldogs, No. 7 Quinnipiac, No. 11 UConn, and Sacred Heart University in one of the most anticipated collegiate ice hockey events of the season.
Tournament Format
On Saturday at 3 p.m. Yale and Sacred Heart will square off. Immediately following that matchup, Quinnipiac and UConn will play in the second semifinal game. The losers will face off in the consolation match on Saturday at 3 p.m. The winners will play for the Nutmeg Classic trophy at 6 p.m.
Yale's Outlook
The Bulldogs enter the Nutmeg Classic with a 5-5 overall record, but all five losses have come against teams ranked in the top-eight. The Elis are led by
Elle Hartje who leads the team with 13 points.
Anna Bargman and
Jordan Ray have also been top contributors for the Bulldogs.
Scouting Sacred Heart
Yale will play Sacred Heart in the first semifinal matchup of the weekend. The Pioneers come into the tournament with a record of 6-10, but have played well of late, winning five of their last seven contests. Sydney Antonakis is the leading point-getter for Sacred Heart, tallying seven goals and five assists so far this season.
Scouting Quinnipiac
The Bobcats are off to an excellent start to begin the 2023-24 campaign with an overall record of 12-3 with wins over the Bulldogs and No. 8 Cornell. Sadie Peart is the Bobcats' top scorer with 11 goals.
Scouting UConn
The Huskies are ranked No. 11 in the nation this season after a 9-3-1 start. The duo of Jada Habisch and Coryn Tormala have paced UConn's offense, while goaltender Megan Warrener is a perfect 5-0 between the pipes.

The Nutmeg Classic runs from Friday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Nov. 25. The event is free to the public.
