Offense Comes Up Big as Bulldogs Defeat LIU

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four Bulldogs had multi-point games as the Yale men's hockey team took down Long Island University (LIU), 5-3, at Ingalls Rink. Yale improved to 4-8 overall, while the Sharks fell to 7-12-1. After suffering defeat to the Sharks just eight days ago and then an initial strike by LIU in the opening frame, the Bulldogs erupted for five unanswered goals to help propel them to victory.

Scoring Summary

  • P2, 3:19 | On the powerplay, Connor Sullivan slid over a smooth pass to Briggs Gammill at the face-off dot for the rocket-like finish.

  • P2, 6:37 | 11 seconds later, William Dineen connected with Ian Carpentier on the doorstop for the finish and two-goal lead for Yale.
  • P3, 5:15 | Another powerplay goal was in store for the Bulldogs as Dineen, camped out in front, picked up his own rebound and gave Yale a three-goal lead.
  • P3, 12:17 | Chen took advantage of his speed after catching a pass entering the neutral zone. He banked a pass off the boards around a Shark's defender and found the back of the net.

  • P3, 19:08.8 | LIU added a powerplay goal with the extra attacker.
