Bulldogs Secure First-Ever ECAC Hockey Regular Season Championship

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Behind a hat trick and five point day from Elle Hartje, the No. 2 Yale women's hockey team defeated Harvard, 10-1, on senior day at Ingalls Rink. The win secured the 2023 ECAC Hockey Regular Season Championship and granted the Bulldogs the top seed in the postseason tournament. Yale finished the regular season 26-2-1 overall and 19-2-1 in the ECAC. 
 
Scoring Summary
  • P1, 18:52 | Elle Hartje got the Bulldogs on the board just a minute and eight seconds into the game.
  • P1, 16:33 | Harvard tied it up just two and a half minutes later.
  • P1, 5:40 | Tijana Miskovic swiped in a shot in front for the go-ahead goal.
  • P1, 0:29 | It was Hartje again on Yale's third goal. The junior powered from the corner, walked to the front and sauced a shot into the back of the net for the goal.
  • P2, 17:23 | Claire Dalton won a puck battle in the corner and made a short pass over to Charlotte Welch, who threw a shot on net that squeaked past the Harvard goalie.
  • P2, 6:27 | On the powerplay, Emma Seitz crept in from the point and found a loose puck hanging out in front for the senior to bury.
  • P2, 4:19  | Carina DiAntonio won the battle from beyond the goal line and found Dalton breaking in front for Yale's sixth goal.
  • P3, 13:01 | DiAntonio found the back of the net on a partial breakaway. The first year stole the puck, charged in on goal and a laid one into the net.
  • P3, 16 47 | Anna Bargman passed the puck up to Sofie Zander at the point. Zander sailed a shot from the blue line and found the net through traffic. 
  • P3, 10:41 | Yale's Hartje found the back of the next once again to cap her hat trick with a tipped shot from Anna Bargman
  • P3, 6:45Anna Bargman made it a double-digit game for Yale in the third. Olivia Muhn made a pass to a breaking-Bargman entering the zone on the left side. Bargman sailed from left to right and sealed the backhanded finish.

  • The Bulldogs secured their first-ever ECAC Hockey regular season title.
  • The team tied their program-best single-season wins record with 26 wins on the year.
  • Tijana Miskovic recorded her first career goal and her first career game-winning goal.
  • Sofie Zander potted her first career goal.
  • Elle Hartje had a hand in five of Yale's 10 goals. It was the first five point game of her collegiate career. 
  • Hartje recorded her second career hat trick. Her first hat trick came against LIU on Oct. 25, 2019. 
  • Emma Seitz extended her point streak to seven games.

Yale looks ahead to Feb. 24-26 when the squad hosts the first round of the ECAC Hockey playoffs.
