Bulldogs Sit in Third Place After Opening Day at Ivy Championship

800 freestyle relay places third

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Ivy League Men's Swimming and Diving Championship is under way and Yale sits in third place after the first two events with 106 points.
 
The Bulldogs got a strong performance from their 800 freestyle relay team of Jack Maketa, Joseph Page, Jose Cano and Noah Millard, who placed third with a time of 6:21.92. Princeton finished first in 6:16.77.
 
The first event of the night was the 200 medley relay and Yale's team of Greg Kalin, Alexander Hazlett, Connor Lee and Lucius Brown finished fourth in 1:25.62. Harvard won with a pool record time of 1:23.79.
 
Princeton and Harvard share the lead with 120 points after the first day of competition.
 
The meet resumes on Thursday with the prelims at 11 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
