Yale (2-1, 0-0 Ivy League) found itself in an unfamiliar position Saturday – trailing after the first quarter. In the first two games of the season the Bulldogs had outscored their opponents by a combined score of 10-4, but on Saturday Stony Brook scored the first three goals and led 4-2 after one. The Seawolves then scored the first four goals of the second quarter.Â

A pair of goals by Collignon in the final 2:17 of the first half got Yale within four, but Stony Brook (2-0, 0-0 CAA) scored the first three goals of the third quarter to take control. A goal by sophomore attacker
Taylor Everson at 2:14 of the third snapped a span of 13:16 without a goal for Yale.Â

The Seawolves scored two goals early in the fourth to go up 13-5 before junior attacker

Yale hosts No. 17 Princeton next Saturday in the Ivy League opener. The Tigers were picked for first in the Ivy League preseason poll and Yale was picked for second.
