LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The Yale men's tennis team, ranked No. 53, gave No. 34 UCLA all it could handle. The Bruins, though, escaped with a 4-3 victory.
Yale won the doubles point behind victories from

Aidan Reilly and
Eric Li and
Michael Sun.
In singles,
Vignesh Gogineni earned a hard-fought 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 victory in the No. 2 position. Sun also won a close match at No. 4. Sun won the first set 7-5, lost the second set in a tie breaker and then won the match in a super tiebreaker that went to 14-12.
Next up for the Bulldogs is UCSB on Wednesday.
