SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Yale men's tennis team turned in an impressive performance in Northern California, knocking Cal Poly 6-1.
The Bulldogs earned the doubles point in exciting fashion. The Mustangs won at the No. 1 position, but
Theo Dean and
Aidan Reilly posted a 6-2 victory at No. 2. Yale won a thrilling deciding match as
Michael Sun and
Eric Li won a tiebreaker 7-2.
In singles, Dean, Sun, Reilly,
Luke Neal and
Walker Oberg earned victories. Neal was involved in the closest match at No. 4. He won the first set in a tiebreaker, lost the second set but won a close super tiebreaker 10-8.
Yale wraps up its trip with a match at Santa Clara on Monday at 2 p.m. EDT.
