NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's tennis team plays its final two matches of the season this weekend, hosting Columbia on Saturday and Cornell on Sunday. Saturday's match is a 1 p.m. start and on Sunday the action gets under way at noon. Weather permitting both matches will be played on the Yale outdoor courts.

Prior to Sunday's match, Yale's three seniors will be honored. Vivian Cheng, Rhea Shrivastava and Chelsea Kung have been outstanding representatives of Yale women's tennis on and off the court.

The Bulldogs (10-12, 2-3 Ivy) are coming off a split last weekend at Penn and Princeton. Yale knocked off the Quakers 4-0 as Shrivastava, Ann Wright Guerry and Sophia Zaslow all posted straight set singles victories. The next day, the Bulldogs dropped a 5-0 decision at first-place Princeton.

Columbia (10-7, 4-1 Ivy) is still alive in the race for the Ivy title. The Lions have won three straight matches and trail Princeton (5-0) by one match. Columbia closes out its season at Brown on Sunday.

Cornell, which plays at Brown on Saturday, split two matches last weekend, falling to Harvard but rallying to beat Dartmouth. The Big Red is 5-14 overall and 1-4 in Ivy play.
